Day-long search continues as man jumps into river Jhelum near Zaina Kadal | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNO): A man jumped into the river Jhelum near Zaina Kadal area of Srinagar on Thursday evening while the search operation continued throughout the day. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Farooq Ahmad Shangloo (60), a resident of Zakoora, Srinagar, jumped into the river Jhelum near Zaina Kadal yesterday late evening. He added that a rescue operation was launched, but unfortunately, the person was not located until late evening. Additionally, ASI SDRF Abdul Rashid told KNO, a rescue operation was initiated in the early morning at around 06:30 AM by the SDRF department. Despite efforts, no traces of the body were found, and the search concluded as daylight diminished. Moreover, police have already initiated an investigation, while awaiting further details—(KNO)
